Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial is a non-invasive light therapy skin treatment that can help treat multiple skin concerns of unwanted sun damage or blood vessels. The treatment is about 15 to 30 minutes in which you will feel mild discomfort of a “rubberband snap.” It is a quick, safe and effective treatment with little to no clinical downtime. It is an effective procedure to improve:
Pigmentation • Freckles • Brown spots or age spots • Broken blood vessels • Facial veins

What areas can IPL Photofacial treat?
IPL Photofacial can be treated anywhere on the face and body. The most popular areas for IPL Photofacial are:
• Full Face (i.e. pigmentation, sun spots, freckles, facial veins)
• Neck (i.e. brown spots or age spots, sun damage)
• Chest (i.e. freckles, sun damage, brown spots)
• Back (i.e. sun spots, brown spots)
• Hands (i.e. pigmentation, age spots, brown spots)
• Arms (i.e. brown spots, sun damage, blood vessels)
• Legs (i.e. blood vessels, sun damage)
What should I expect after my IPL Photofacial treatment?
There may be temporary pinkness of the skin immediately after the treatment and possible mild sensitivity, itchiness, and swelling that will subside in 24-48 hours after treatment.
What is the downtime associated with IPL Photofacial?
There is no to minimal clinical downtime with IPL Photofacial. However, there is “social downtime” in which you can expect darkening of the pigments within 1-3 days after treatment. These dark spots will slowly slough off in 5-7 days after treatment.
How long do the results of IPL Photofacial last?
Longevity of results are varied from person to person. Most patients have sustained results for 6-12 months with the exception of pigments caused by genetics, which will require continuous maintenance sessions. Blood vessel results require maintenance treatments to sustain results. At the end of your series of IPL Photofacial treatments you will be prescribed a personalized skin care regimen and maintenance program, so that you will enjoy your results for as long as possible.
The duration of results is greatly influenced by your lifestyle, sun exposure, diet, and the use of proper skin care products. You can greatly extend the results by observing the following:
• Always protect your skin with an SPF 50 broad spectrum sunblock (year around)
• Daily and year around use of the skin care regimen we recommend for you
• Not smoking or drinking excessive alcohol
• Eating a healthy balanced diet
• Regular exercise
• Doing a single booster or maintenance treatment every 6 to 12 months
What is the cost of Laser Genesis?
The cost is based on the size of the area to be treated, the severity of the issue of concern and the number of treatments needed to address your specific issue. Most people need a series of at least 6 treatments to obtain optimal results. Treatments are done every 4 weeks. An exact quote of cost and number of treatments needed to treat your specific issue will be provided at your consultation, after we have had an opportunity to do a complete assessment of your skin.
